Announcement of Job Openings – CASTOR Project & PEKA-OPY
The Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) announces a call for applications for the recruitment of two (2) individuals under fixed-term private-law employment contracts, for the needs of the following research projects:
- PEKA-OPY 2024–2029 (Monitoring and recording the status of the country’s waters)
- CASTOR – Conservation Actions for Supporting the Threatened Freshwater Fish of the Evrotas River, funded by the Donors’ Initiative for Mediterranean Freshwater Ecosystems (DIMFE)
Job Description
The two positions involve:
- Sampling and species identification of river fish
- Data entry and data analysis
- Report writing
Additionally, for each position:
- Position 1: Participation in fish behavioral experiments
- Position 2: Support in fish pathology and maintenance of fish in aquaria
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science–Ichthyology, or Ichthyology (Technological Education)
- A Master’s or PhD related to the environment
- At least 3 years of experience in sampling and identification of river fish and relevant data analysis
Contract Duration
From the date of signing until 31/12/2025, with the possibility of renewal.
Place of Employment
HCMR Facilities – Anavyssos, Attica.
